The road from Puntzi Lake to Bella Coola
Part of the 5-hour drive along Highway 20 going west is called "the Hill," at Heckman Pass. This steep, unpaved, unbarricaded road is so infamous it has its own poem: "Before you drive the Hill, Be sure to finish your Will." | |

This stake indicates one of the surveyed locations for placement of a seismic sensor/recorder. By this time, project surveyors have already marked most of the locations for sensor stations. There are thousands of these stations in the survey area, including some in locations accessible only by boat. |
