The motivation for this workshop was born in March of 2009 foreseeing the need for a broader understanding of antelope tools and its interfaces by EPIC staff and a group of researchers from New Mexico Tech (NMT).
A common interest between students in seismology at NMT, and staff at EarthScope/EPIC, led us to propose to the Director of EarthScope/EPIC, and the Chair of Earth and Environmental Science at NMT, the possibility of a focused workshop in Antelope. As a result, August 24th and 25th EarthScope/EPIC held the first Workshop for Antelope and its Interfaces with Matlab and Python.
The main objective was to provide to the in-house staff and a group of researchers and students from New Mexico Tech the opportunity to learn and develop a better understanding of event detection, data processing tools and developed software interfaces with PYTHON and MATLAB.
The founders of Boulder Real Time Technologies and Lindquist Consulting Incorporated, Dr. Danny Harvey and Dr. Kent Lindquist, visited EPIC for two days to share their knowledge on the topics of interest and provide guidance on data processing for pre-set datasets.
